About the Author
Andras Gero is professor of history and chairman of the Department of History at Budapest University (ELTE). He is also professor of history at Central European University and the director of the Institute of Habsburg History. He his recent books include Public Space in Budapest: The History of Kossuth Square; The Jewish Criterion in Hungary; and The Hungarian Parliament (1867–1918): A Mirage of Power.
